Dinalupihan eyes greener future

A step toward sustainable agriculture took root today in Barangay Dalao as the Local Government of Dinalupihan, led by Mayor Tong Santos, and supported by Bataan 3rd District Representative Gila Garcia, convened with key agencies to advance a cutting-edge irrigation project powered by the sun.

The meeting brought together representatives from the National Irrigation Administration (NIA), the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA), and local leaders to discuss the rollout of a 15-horsepower Solar-Powered Pure Irrigation Project equipped with an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Monitoring System. The system is designed to deliver efficient water distribution to farmlands while harnessing renewable energy to cut down on operational costs and reduce environmental impact.

Following the discussions, the delegation proceeded to a site visit of two active Communal Irrigation System (CIS) locations in the area. Among those present were Barangay Captain Aldrin Galarosa and members of the Sabanna Lumantang Irrigators Association, headed by Mr. Diosdado Dula, who shared firsthand accounts of the project’s benefits.

“The AI-powered irrigation system not only eases our workload but ensures water is distributed evenly and sustainably,” Dula said. “It’s a big leap forward for farmers like us.”

The initiative forms part of a broader vision to modernize Dinalupihan’s agricultural backbone while promoting climate-smart technologies for long-term resilience and food security.

As Mayor Santos noted, “This isn’t just about water — it’s about empowering our farmers, embracing innovation, and building a future that flows with sustainability.”

The visit ended with optimism and a shared commitment to expand similar projects across the municipality, reinforcing Dinalupihan’s growing reputation as a hub for smart agriculture in Central Luzon.
